Known as "Danmarks hårdeste trail løb" (Denmark's hardest trail run), it draws fitness travelers and elite trail runners from across Europe to tackle the steep, rocky, and uncompromising cliffs of Nordbornholm. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming events, the terrain, and where to rest your legs when it's all over. LINK #### What is the Salomon Hammer Trail? Organized by the local sports club Tejn IF/Løb (the "first movers" of Danish trail running since 2005), the Hammer Trail is a premier trail running event that turns the dramatic northern coastline of Bornholm into a grueling playground. The course is infamous for its relentless elevation changes, technical rocky footing, and unpredictable Baltic weather. ### When is the next Hammer Trail event? The event is split into two seasonal challenges: **Salomon Hammer Trail Winter** | January 30, 2027 **Salomon Hammer Trail Spring** | May 1, 2027 ### Where to Stay for the Hammer Trail: Allinge Hotel When you push your body to its limits on the trails, your recovery strategy starts with where you stay. For traveling athletes, the Allinge Hotel is the top recommendation. LINK #### Unbeatable Proximity Both the Winter start line at Hammershus and the Spring start line at Hammersø are located right in the Allinge/Sandvig area. Staying at the Allinge Hotel means no stressful race-morning transit. LINK #### Optimal Recovery After conquering "Denmark's hardest trail," you need a quiet, comfortable space to elevate your legs. The hotel offers a serene coastal atmosphere perfect for winding down. LINK #### Local Charm Situated in the heart of Allinge, you have immediate access to local cafes and restaurants for a pre-race carb-load and a post-race celebration. ### How do I register? Registration for both the Winter and Spring editions is managed directly through the official Tejn IF/Løb portal. Book your room at the Allinge Hotel before finalizing your race registration, as accommodation in Nordbornholm during race weekends is heavily impacted. --- [LINK](/en/experiences-on-bornholm) #### Looking for what else to do in Bornholm?
